We recieved more than 1000 questions for Katie Leigh, the actress who plays Connie. Below are her answers to some of them. Thanks to everyone who sent in questions and thanks to Katie Leigh for answering our questions.
Ashley, age 14 asks, "How does playing Connie affect your real life? And when Connie found out that Mitch was supposedly "dead," how did it affect your character and you?"
As Connie, I was very sad at losing someone special to me. As Katie, I wasn't sure if Mitch was dead or not, but I knew the actor who plays him was still alive. So it didn't affect me as me.
Mary, age 9 asks, "What's your favorite episode?"
I really liked Back to Bethlehem, but I've really enjoyed a lot of the new ones.
Kristin asks, "Hey Katie Leigh! I have been listening to Adventures in Odyssey for over eight years and absolutely LOVE it! I was wondering...do you have red hair?"
No, I don't have red hair, but rather a sort of "raspberry chestnut" :-)
Shara, age 11, asks, "Is it fun working for Adventures in Odyssey?"
TOTALLY!!!!
Kira, age 13 asks, "How would you compare the difficulty of acting with your voice and acting with your face and your body?"
WELL, I don't do any "on camera" work. I've been in plays and it really isn't that much different except for the fact that it doesn't matter what I am wearing or what I look like. In voice acting, I think we are more free to use our bodies without feeling self-conscious.
Mary, age 14 asks, "Is it fun getting to act like a teenager or do you wish Connie would grow up?"
It is lots of fun, but sometimes I do wish she would do some more grown up things. However, I think she is always growing up, don't you?
Jimmy, age 11 asks, "How old were you when you got saved? You always say that you are most like Connie because it took you awhile to come to God. So were you also around the same age?"
NO I was a little older when I actually prayed to be saved...like 25.
Shaianne, age 13 asks, "When Connie is crying or something like that do you put your self in her place?"
Yes, I have to in order to be real.
Melodie, age 13 asks, "How long does it take to finish a episode?"
I get done very quickly, but the director often wants more takes....so about 4 hours to record and then many more hours of post production.
Mary, age 14 asks, "Do you think Mrs. Mitchell has a nice ring to it? And what happens when an actor or actress gets the hiccups?"
Mrs. Mitchell is a great name! When you get the hiccups you just have to wait for them to away like in real life. We work with tape so we can always do a scene over.
Laken, age 11 asks, "Do you have to memorize all your parts?"
Nope, I get to read them from the script right in front of me.
Andrea, age 13 asks, "Did you ever not like the lines they gave you so you changed them to make them sound better?"
Yes, I used to do that a whole lot. Then they started to write my lines the way they thought I would change them.
