Description:
Tom and Whit move an old desk into one of the rooms at Whit's End. In that room, covered with tarps, sits Kid's Radio, gathering dust. No one has used it since Brad and Sherman launched the station. Tom says it's a waste to let the equipment sit unused. He suggests that he and Whit put on their own radio show, airing the classics of radio's golden age. Whit agrees, and the result is "Odyssey's Big Broadcast"!
First, they run the ever-popular game show "Fact or Fiction," in which Lucy and Jimmy compete head-to-head to answer the brain-teasing question: "Is it fact, or is it fiction?" Then, Eugene brings us the "Odyssey Sports Round-Up," in which he interviews Coach Fred Zachary.
After a few more twists and curves, we arrive at the centerpiece of the production, "Odyssey Theatre of the Air's" presentation of "Sam Maritan, Private Eye." Sam comes across "The Mystery on the Road to Jericho," in which he finds a man beaten and left for dead. Sam questions a Jewish priest and a Levite who saw the man but passed him on the road. After talking with them, Sam solves the attack, concluding that it was done by robbers. The Big Broadcast is fun, humorous, and a smashing success. It looks like Kid's Radio is back in business.
