Description:
Christopher Robin is leaving Pooh Corner. At least, that's what it feels like to Whit when Jimmy Barclay announces that he is getting too old to come to Whit's End and play in the Imagination Station. In fact, Jimmy is beginning to think that the whole imagination scene is just a bit too immature for him. He even takes on a heavy responsibility, baby-sitting for Donna. He watches a young, energetic bundle of pure imagination named Lawrence Hodges.
While Jimmy is baby-sitting, he and Lawrence go to Wonderworld, where Lawrence takes Jimmy on a roller coaster ride of fantasy fun. They stop at a prisoner of war camp, Nottingham Forest, the African veldt, and the headquarters of the evil agency Destructo. Jimmy tries his best to maintain his newfound "adult" composure. But little by little, Lawrence wears Jimmy down until the two of them jump headlong into the imagination river. They have a great time, and Jimmy realizes that you're never too old to be a kid again.
Questions:
Why didn't Jimmy want to try out Whit's new program for the Imagination Station? Have you ever felt like Jimmy did? When? Are you ever too old to use your imagination? Explain your answer. Read Psalm 10. How does God feel about creativity?
