Audio Series > 30: Through Thick & Thin > No Bones About It
Description:
On a not-so-typical afternoon in Odyssey, Dwayne and Julie get lost on a hike and end up exploring a cave where they discover some old bones. Dwayne is convinced they belong to Bigfoot and, while envisioning the money to be made from such a find, swears Julie to secrecy. However, Rodney Rathbone interrupts them while looking for a new hideout for the Bones of Wrath. Hearing their assessment of the bones, Rodney thinks they're crazy.
Later, however, Rodney tells his father about the bones and Bart demands to see them. He's convinced they belong to Bigfoot because he believes he saw the creature near the cave when he was a child. Imagining huge profits from sightseers, Bart rushes off to buy the property from Jeb Eckhart for $10,000.
Meanwhile, Dwayne and Julie tell Whit and Eugene what they've discovered. Eugene has one of the bones tested for authenticity at the college, and they learn it is a fake. Just before the grand opening, Bart learns the same thing when Rodney falls on the bones, exposing its plaster makeup. Bart quickly announces the bones have been stolen, and sells the property back to Mr. Eckhart for a profit.
Whit confronts Bart with a videotape movie about Bigfoot called "The Legend of Bigfoot's Cave," which was filmed in Odyssey 30 years ago. When Bart sees the cave and the fake bones in the movie, he realizes that is what he saw as a child. He is further embarrassed to learn that Mr. Eckhart has found oil on the property and will become extremely wealthy.
