Description:
The episode continues back at Whit's End, where Jason is talking with Connie about how restless he's been feeling. Eugene meets with Katrina, who urges him to be more aggressive in his job placement at the college. Troubled by this, Eugene stops to talk to Jack and Joanne, who are dealing with problems of their own. The missions board wants Joanne to travel more, but Jack wants her to stay home. Just then Malachi shows up and tells Joanne that her services are no longer needed on the missions board.
Everyone gathers at Whit's End to try to figure out if Malachi is an angel--some want to believe, others want a rational explanation. Jason is convinced that Malachi is some kind of spy. Tom comes into Whit's End, saying that Timmy's diary has inspired him to create the "Timothy Center"--a retreat center for kids. However, he has to meet with Margaret Faye to get approval for the center.
The story continues in part II...
Questions:
Whit said that what's happening in Odyssey was "the kind of thing that happened any time an angel showed up in the BIble." What are some instances in the Bible where angels showed up? What things happened to the people they talked to? Joanne made a decision not to continue with the Missions Board work, even though she didn't know who would take her place. Can you think of any situations where people have had to have faith that God knew best?
