Description:
After a rather tedious day at school, Liz wonders what people really think of her. Her friend Sarah seems to like her clothes, but do they? Her friend Alex seems to like her, but does he really? Will she get the part in the Little Theater production? Whit offers to show her what others are thinking through the Room of Consequence. Liz experiences what it's like to hear what other people are thinking. Sarah doesn't really like her clothing. Alex likes her, but only when compared to dissecting frogs. She got the part in the play, but no one was really paying attention when she performed. She decides that maybe thoughts are better left unheard.
In the next episode, Whit leaves town for a while, but the kids start to really miss him. When the kids start nearly demanding Whit to return, Eugene creates a computer program of Whit, that the kids can ask questions. To make the representation more realistic, Eugene adds a poster of Whit. Even this doesn't satisfy the kids, however, and Eugene decides to take the next step, to make an animatronic Whit. He spends the whole night working and in the morning presents a full-scale representation of Whit to the eager kids. Just as Eugene is beginning to demonstrate his new invention, the REAL Whit shows up and deactivates the model. He orders the kids to read Exodus 32 in their Bibles and then return to talk about what they did wrong.
Questions:
Why doesn't God want us to know what people are thinking? How can we find out about what God thinks? Why was Whit upset that Eugene had made a robot of him? Are there things in your life that you pay more attention to than God? What are they?
