Description:
Connie is feeling depressed, wondering what she should do with her life. Then a personal trainer named Ricky McLean convinces Connie that she should try for a scholarship at Campbell College. All she has to do to get the scholarship is get three friends to lose ten pounds in five weeks. Connie immediately turns to Whit, Wooton, and Bernard to help. They are uncertain at first, but reluctantly agree to help.
At the first weigh-in Connie hands out diet plans and tells the guys her motto for weight-loss--patience and perseverance. Exercise and dieting begins with mixed results. Whit seems to be doing well, but Bernard and Wooton are having trouble sticking to the diet plan. Bernard convinces Wooton to cheat when Connie isn’t looking and sneak a bite of a few snacks. The next weigh-in is revealing, however, because Bernard and Wooton aren’t loosing enough weight to make the goal in time. Connie feels disappointed and wonders if she should quit trying to be a train, but Wooton and Bernard tell Connie they will try harder and stick to the motto--patience and perseverance.
It's a difficult time for the next few weeks. Wooton tries removing his eyebrows and cutting his fingernails. Bernard keeps complaining about dieting. Whit seems to be doing the best of the three. Wooton and Bernard stick to their resolve, however, and even refuse to eat a brownie when they have the chance.
The final weigh-in arrives. Wooton lost a total of twelve pounds, more than enough. Bernard lost ten pounds, just enough. And Whit lost...only nine pounds! Connie can’t get the scholarship. Whit feels disappointed that he let Connie down, but Connie shrugs it off, saying that personal training isn’t really for her. She just wants to find something she can be. The three guys remind her of her motto--patience and perseverance. Hang in there, and God will show you the way to go.
